The surgery George has been listed for is  Aortobifem + Right Femoral Popliteal bypass. This surgery entails, opening the patient's abdomen and exposing the aorta and exposing the femoral and the popliteal arteries. This allows the surgeon to attach a synthetic graft to the patient's aorta and connect that to the femoral artery bypassing the lower aorta which is blocked with a stenosis. The second part of this case will be the bypass of the patient's femoral artery to the popliteal artery allowing for better blood flow to the patient's lower limb, with the aim of reducing the pain in which the patient is in.  (North Bristol NHS Trust, 2020)
