Confidentiality

Permission was obtained from the patient prior to observing their consultation with an anaesthetist. This consultation was required to assess the patients health and fitness for surgery, and to also plan the care they would receive during their procedure.   

Due to confidentiality, the patient will be referred to as George throughout this report, this corresponds to the HCPC, (2018) Standards of conduct on patient confidentiality, which states permission must be attained when disclosing information pertaining to the patient. Additionally, the use of this information will fall within the data protection act 2018 where the use of information will be limited to only relevant information about the patient and their procedure (Data Protection Act, 2018)
